Refunds & disputes

Handsel does not hold your money

During this early-access pilot there is no payment provider integrated. When a brand approves a creator's work, an invoice is generated automatically, but the actual payment is a bank transfer the brand sends the creator directly. We ask the brand to mark the deal paid once they've sent it, and we ask the creator to confirm once it arrives. Both of those are self-declared: Handsel has no way to verify a bank transfer actually happened.

Refunds

Because payment happens directly between the brand and creator, a refund is something they arrange between themselves. Handsel has no funds to return. If a brand paid for work that wasn't delivered, or a creator was paid short, that's exactly the kind of thing to raise as a dispute below.

If something goes wrong

There's no automated dispute process yet. That's on our roadmap. Either side can raise a dispute from the deal screen. Raising one does not freeze money or pause the deal, because there's nothing on our side to freeze. It creates a record both parties and our support team can see. Message the other side directly first if you can; if that doesn't resolve it, email support@handsel.in with the deal name.

Sponsored-content compliance

Creators are responsible for following ASCI's disclosure guidelines on any paid or gifted content from a Handsel deal. Brands and creators can both be held liable for undisclosed sponsorships under Indian consumer-protection law.
